It seems like nowadays, in a world where DLC reigns supreme, you end up missing out if you don’t preorder a game. In the past, preordering was kind of pointless as you could always find the game on release date anyway, but now preordering comes hand in hand with some cool downloadable bonuses.
Details about those bonuses as they pertain to Batman Arkham City are starting to leak out.
Here are the Batman Arkham City Preorder Bonuses that we know about so far:
- Best Buy: With a Best Buy preorder you will receive a Batman Arkham City Combo Pack. No details yet on what this combo pack is, though we’ll update this post as those details become available.
- Gamestop: Gamestop is giving away access to an exclusive challenge map, Joker’s Carnival, with your preorder.
While you can’t quite get your hands on Batman Arkham City yet, at least now you know when you’ll be able to. The official release date for the game has been announced, and you’ll be swinging around pwning villains as the Dark Knight this October.
Here’s the official Batman Arkham City release date, broken down by region.
October 18th – North America
October 19th – Australia
October 21st – Europe and other global territories
So there you have it, Batman Arkham City has officially joined the crowded holiday release window. I don’t know about the rest of you, but even in that crowded window Batman Arkham City is still my most anticipated game being released.
